Last year, we delivered a bunch of quilts, teddy bears, and hand made cards to the Palo Alto VA Hospital for the patients in their Spinal Cord Injury Unit.
This year, on July 18, Kossacks are giving a gift to the patients of the Detroit VA Medical Center, with special focus on the hospital's 65 bed nursing home. We are shooting for 65 quilts (and still need some more -- if you are a quilter and would like to help, please contact me!), 65 teddy bears, 65 hand made cards, and 65 phone cards (more on that last one later). In addition, Winifred3 and broths have collected over 100 hand made scarves and hats (woo hoo!) that we hope will be especially helpful to the homeless vets the hospital serves. But there is one more piece of the gift that the Readers & Book Lovers and others can help with -- and it doesn't cost anything but postage. The hospital has a library -- and donations of paper back books, DVDs or games are most welcome.
